Amy Vergie Associate Marriage Family Therapist AMFT 152830/
Drug & Alcohol counselor CADC II
Supervised by Heather Aller-Stamps LMFT #45621

I have been working in the field of chemical dependency for the past 18 years, with experience both in outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care. I am active in the 12

step community and have been sober since 2002. I am passionate about families getting well as a whole. I have experience in individual counseling, family counseling, facilitating parent support groups, working with couples with addiction/alcoholism within the marriage, and gender specific recovery groups all revolving around wellness from chemical dependency and co-dependency. I currently work with Individuals, couples and families through individual sessions on self-care tools, boundaries, self-esteem building, developing healthy communication tools and ways to build a new foundation to obtain long term results. I'm passionate on creating strong relationships with the people I get to help to remove shame and allow authenticity and vulnerability. I attended American River College to obtain my CADC II. I attended Sacramento State to obtain my bachelor's degree and completed my master's degree at International Alliant University. I am in the process of earning my hours as an associate marriage and family therapist being supervised under Heather Aller-Stamps LMFT #45621 through Aller Counseling and Consulting to obtain my MFT license. I am expanding my practice that I have specialized in substance abuse for the past 7 years to working with couples as well.  I am blessed and honored to make a positive impact on the individuals, couples and families that I am privileged to walk through the struggles with chemical dependency and mental health.

Services-

Couples Therapy - My goals in working with the couple is to create safety and vulnerability. Break down barriers. To repair and rebuild the foundation of the couple and establish healthy boundaries. Let's find new doors that open new possibilities that will strengthen the relationship working as a team. I enjoy blended family work with couples, high conflict resolution, overcoming loss of trust and strengthening connection. This deep level of work will ensure long term results.

Individual and Family Therapy - My approach to individual counseling is to provide a safe place for someone to openly share themselves. To build a relationship with them to where shame can be removed, instill a solid foundation of recovery, and build affect regulation.

My approach to working with the family is to help the family understand substance abuse and create a strong support system within the family. To strengthen the foundation and create wellness as a whole.
